Howdy guys, I've just learn how to make narrative text. Then..I start practice by making this short story. I believe it is not interesting story anymore, moreover there's so many grammatical error, but I hope that people will enjoy it. Even if not, at least I can get such kind of appreciation since I know how hard my struggle to make it, hehe..
#I don't know yet about the title anyway :D

Early morning, a young girl woke up from her tight sleep. She was really enjoy her night camp with her high school friends. Yeah, Tari, the name of the young girl is have a camping in a small village. She was really excited to wait this moment since he is such a uptown girl who lives in elite area. It means, she even never feel how people lives in out of her space. Nevertheless, even if she was overprotected by her parent, she is unlike the other rich girl who tend to act spoil, arrogant, and hedonist although actually her parent are such kind of those type. Her parents protect her a lot, they really care with whom does their daughter play with, considering someone’s background, and other action which most rich people are suppose to do. That is why it was no wonder Tari got a problem in making friendship because her parent really interfere on that. However, she has a close friend that she really trust in. Unfortunately, they were apart since they graduate in elementary school. Tari didn’t know where she is now, her parent didn’t allow her to meet her beloved friend at that time. After that, she even never heard information about her friend.
In this small village where she camp has a very beautiful scenery and fresh air. Tari didn’t want to spend her time without enjoying this atmosphere. Then, she decided to take a walk for a moment. She was alone because some of her friends haven’t awaken yet. When she walked for a miles, she saw there was a young girl bringing a big tray while yelling
“Mendoan, mendoan...would you like some mendoan ma’am? Don’t you want to try some sir?” the young girl offered her food which made from tempe which is already seasoning with flavor and well fried. From her physical appearance, the girl definitely from the poor background family. Her cloth was so old fashion, the skin was not treat well, perfectly bad looking. Tari was so impressed showing that young girl.
“what the hell? Is there anyone who sincerely get up in this early morning in favor of getting some money? This is crazy. What a pity girl” she thought.
By the chance, Tari was hungry anyway after she walked for a miles. Then, she decided to buy some. She started to approach the girl.
“Excuse me, can I have some please” she said.
The girl was so delighted “Sure, it’s still warm” she replied obviously.
            “ Wow...it’s really delicious”
“Really? I made it by myself, so glad that you like it”
“Yeah, I like it a lot” Tari just smile.
“By the way, where are you from? it seems like you’re new comer here”
“No, I’m not. I’m just students of Senior high school, my school having a camp here”
            “Oh..I see” the girl nodded.
While having a small conversation, Tari felt there was something weird with this girl. As long as they talked, she feel that this girl keep staring at her. Suddenly, the girl started to talk
“Mmm..do you know? I guess I’ve known you from somewhere”
“Really?” She didn’t know why she starting feel uncomfort now. Then she replied again
“I don’t think so, have we ever met before?”
“Yes we did, it has been long time” the girl smile. The situation makes Tari more curious.
“I knew you won’t recognize me Tari” the girl smile. Tari was so surprise. She tried to collect every single pieces of her memory about the girl in front of her. “Who is she actually? How does she know my name?” she thought. She really can’t remember it.
“I’m your old friend, Aisyah” the girl told Tari which make her really shock. Aisyah understood what did Tari think from her expression.
“It was a long story Tar” she said. Still, Tari only looking at her old friend without saying anything. She is speechless. She can’t believe she could meet her old friend since many years they were apart. And now, after a long time, she found her friend in a worse condition as like this.
“Did you remember the day we apart when elementary school graduation?” Aisyah begin the story because she knew that her friend really want to know what was happened to her. “ A few month after that, my father passed away. We have to move to this village where my mother was born in. But, since my mother don’t have any job, I decided stop my study to help her looking for a job. And as like you see, this is my job right now, there’s no other job that better than this for the girl who only graduate from elementary school like me”
It was really painful for Tari heard the reality. She cried a lot while hugging her old friend tightly. But, the most painful is, Tari didn’t know one thing. The truth is that, Aisyah didn’t move because of her father death, but the main reason is because she asked by Tari’s mother keep away from her as far as  possible. Until now, Aisyah actually still disappointed. But she knew that she shouldn’t blame her friend. And she decided to keep avoiding Tari even it hurts. In the other hand, Tari didn’t know what to do. She wanted to help her friend but she can’t do anything right now. Even if she asking for help to her parents, they won’t help her anymore.

Top 10 Most Common Idioms in English

You’re talking to your native English-speaking friend about your recent breakup and how depressed you are when suddenly he turns toward you and says “Don’t worry about it man, girls like that are a dime a dozen!” You then stare at your friend in confusion. You simply don’t understand why your good friend is comparing the girl that was once the love of your life to $1.20.

Actually “dime a dozen” doesn’t mean anything even remotely close to what the individual words in the phrase implies. For native speakers of English, a dime a dozen simply means that something is common and easy to obtain. Because we cannot figure out the meaning by examining the phrase alone, “dime a dozen” is what we call an idiom. As a non-native speaker of English, the best way to understand idioms is to memorize their meanings from the standpoint of a native speaker. We’ve listed the 10 most common idioms in English and their actual meanings.
1. Piece of cake – No, when someone says that the assignment they just finished was a piece of cake, it does not mean that their professor gave them a red velvet cupcake for their midterm paper, what piece of cake actually means is that something is very easy to complete.
2. Costs an arm and a leg – It would be a strange world we lived in if buying that fancy shiny purse literally required us to chop off our body parts to give as tribute to the Louis Vuitton gods. When something costs an arm and a leg it actually means that something is very expensive.
3. Break a leg – Oh, look, another idiom about legs. You’re about to take your dreaded calculus final and before you head into your classroom your roommate texts you, “Break a Leg!”  Why, you think in your head, would he ever wish that upon me? I thought we were cool with each other. Well, your roommate surely doesn’t want your bones to break while walking to your seat in the exam room that’s for sure. Break a leg actually means good luck!
4. Hit the books – If you’re a student in an English speaking environment you’re probably going to be hearing this phrase a lot. Before you imagine students running into their campus library and punching, kicking and wrestling apart the complete works of Shakespeare, we would just like to say that hit the books actually means to study. There there, you can still punch books in your spare time if you want, we won’t judge you.
5. Let the cat out of the bag – Why would someone put their cat in a bag? What did the cat ever do to them? Our last idiom actually means to disclose a secret that was supposed to be kept, well, as a secret.  The next time someone lets the cat out of the bag do not immediately pick up your phone and call animal cruelty control.
6. Hit the nail on the head – This idiom has to do with doing or saying something that is precisely right. If you don’t understand this, just think about that sweet feeling you get when you swing a hammer at a nail and hit it perfectly.
7. When pigs fly – So, have you ever seen a pig fly before? Never? Me neither. This idiom basically means that something will never happen, like fat little pink mammals soaring toward the sun!
8. You can’t judge a book by its cover – How many awesome books do you think you’ve never read in your life just because the cover did not catch your eye? This idiom does not only apply to books however, but can be used for everything in general. Essentially it means that you should not decide upon something based just on outward appearances.
9.  Bite off more than you can chew – Imagine your waiter brings you the biggest juiciest hamburger from your favorite American restaurant. In your hunger, you grab it quickly and take a giant bite out of it. Unfortunately, the bite you’ve taken is too big, and you end up looking like an idiot trying to shove this bite down your throat while drinking water and trying not to choke. That is the most literal sense of the meaning, but in general it just means to attempt to take on a task that is too much for you to handle.
10. Scratch someone’s back – We all know how difficult it is to scratch that itch on your back that your hand just aren’t flexible enough to reach, so why would you want to scratch some random person’s smelly back? Because if you do, they may eventually be willing to scratch your own smelly back when you need it! What this idiom means is to help someone out with the assumption that they will return the favor in the future!

That’s all for now, be sure to keep checking this blog for more idioms in the future! (No that wasn’t an idiom, seriously, check our blog out, and let the cat out of the bag!) :D

Fun with ETT :P

I think learning pronunciation could be interesting and fun for me, Sure! Well, to be honest, learning pronunciation can be really exhausting...it usually includes repetition drills which make our lessons monotonous. But does it have to be like this? No, of course not! Well, at least not always...
This is why I introduce tongue twisters .I find them to be an excellent way of learning pronunciation – for both young and adult learners. And we can definitely relieve the monotony of the lesson. Another advantage of tongue twisters is that we can practice the language without fear of making a mistake since everyone makes mistakes with tongue twisters (including teachers). Apart from making mistakes, everyone has fun! So, if you are at the point where you are trying to help your pronunciation, choose one of the links bellow.  English tongue twisters is one of way to improve your English pronunciation. It's very difficult to say tongue twisters in English so don't worry if you can't do it very well at first, just have fun!
